Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan were not included in this. The decision not to include Iyer in any grade was quite shocking. Now the coach of Kolkata Knight Riders has given a statement on this. He said that Shreyas Iyer could have been included in any grade of the Central Contract 2023-24. But this was not done.

The coach also said that Iyer is such a player who will not be affected by these things, he will once again make his place in the team by performing brilliantly in domestic cricket and IPL.

Shreyas Iyer will join the team in future

Kolkata Knight Riders coach Chandrakant Pandit, while giving an interview to Mid Day, said that Team India has to play a lot of series in the future. There will be many players who will not be in form, after which Iyer can be there. He further said that Iyer can make a place in the Indian team on the basis of his excellent performance in IPL and domestic cricket. He can join and perform for India in any format. He also said that Shreyas Iyer’s decision not to opt for the central contract 2023-24 was shocking.

Iyer could have been included in any grade. He had injury problems, but he has sorted it out. He is a good performing player for India. He scored a century against New Zealand in his Test debut. Chandrakant Pandit further said that not being included in any grade will not have much impact on Iyer, he will face this situation and will once again make a strong comeback.

Iyer is in bad form

Shreyas Iyer was included in the Indian team for the first two matches of the five-Test series being played against England, but he could not do anything amazing in the four innings of the two Test matches. Despite getting a good start, he used to lose his wicket by playing bad shots. Iyer scored 35 and 13 respectively in both the innings of the Hyderabad Test.

Whereas in both the innings of Visakhapatnam Test, Iyer was out after scoring 27 and 29. After which he was dropped from the remaining tests. Although after Iyer’s exclusion, he was also asked to play Ranji Trophy 2024, but at that time he did not play domestic cricket citing injury. Whereas now he will be seen playing in the semi-final match between Mumbai and Tamil Nadu starting from March 2.

Ishaan was also attacked

Apart from Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan was also shown the way out of the Central Contract 2023-24. Actually, Ishaan was also asked by BCCI to play Ranji Trophy 2024 for his home team Jharkhand, but he did not give any answer on this.
