In which he gave away 54 runs at a poor economy of 4.15 and did not take any wicket. Whereas in the second innings, Robinson was not allowed to bowl even a single over. However, he did wonders with the bat in the first innings of the Ranchi Test.

On the pitch where all the batsmen were struggling to score runs, he played an amazing inning of 58 runs in 96 balls against the same pitch and bowlers. On the basis of which England was successful in reaching 353 runs in the first innings.
