British GP: Lewis Hamilton thrilled with ‘rocket ship’ vehicle, hopes previous team

British GP: After getting 17 points in the first eight races of the 2023 Formula 1 season, McLaren got 42 points in the last two races to get back into the game. In the most recent race, the British GP, Lando Norris won the first podium of 2023, giving McLaren their best performance of the season. Oscar Piastri, the other teammate and newbie, wasn’t too far behind. He lost out on a podium spot to Lewis Hamilton, who moved up to third and put Piastri in fourth.

But after Silverstone, seven-time winner Lewis Hamilton had nothing but good things to say about his old team, McLaren. The Brit said that he is happy with how McLaren is doing. He called the car a “rocket ship” and said, “Big congratulations to Lando and to McLaren, where my family was and where I got my start.”

“It’s remarkable to see the McLaren back up to speed and ready to compete after such a long layoff. The fight itself was fantastic. “There has been a great deal of time that has passed,” Hamilton stated.

New update to McLaren has been important in recent races

McLaren’s hard work in the pit has paid off for them on the track. Even though they had the same Mercedes engine, they made changes to improve their aerodynamics. They used the improvement in the last race, which was in Austria. Norris came in fourth. Now, they’ve passed Alpine and moved up to fifth place in the manufacturers’ championship.

But their big test won’t be at Silverstone. Instead, it will be at slower tracks. The next race will be on July 23 in Hungry, which is known for having a slow average speed. Norris is also aware of the danger, because he said that his car is “pretty bad in the slow-speed corners” and “very hard to drive.” The British driver knows that after the last two races, people might have high hopes for them, but that might not happen on slow tracks.”But I’m sure that when we get to a couple of these tracks, people will be wondering, “What have you done now?” “Like, how did it get to be this bad so quickly?”

All the way to Max Verstappen

Max Verstappen and his Red Bull are going all the way in the 2023 season. Verstappen is the two-time defending winner, and he has won the last six races in a row. He has won eight of the 10 races so far this season, and his teammate Sergio Perez has won the other two.

Verstappen also won the British GP, which was hardly a race. Early on in the race, Lando Norris passed the Dutch driver, but Verstappen was quick to respond and kept his lead through all 52 laps in Silverstone.
